Ngooran - Platform Design + Development
Web Design • UX/UI Design • Figma • HTML + CSS + JavaScript
Project Overview
Problem
Aboriginal participation in procurement is often reduced to compliance metrics and ownership certificates, which leaves room for “black-cladding” — the exploitation of Aboriginal identity in contracts, and performative reporting. Real Aboriginal businesses are frequently excluded from project decisions, placed in entry-level roles with limited progression, and stripped of meaningful control over how their cultural knowledge is used.
Task
Design a cohesive digital experience for Ngooran, a platform that protects Aboriginal businesses and makes genuine cultural and workforce impact visible. This included a five-slide narrative landing page, login and sign-up flows, a post-login “Singing-In” welcome screen, and the core system theme used across internal pages. The goal was to translate Ngooran’s vision — a living map of cultural and economic impact — into an interface that feels respectful, trustworthy, and grounded in Country and story.

As Ngooran is a secure platform, authenticated flows and internal dashboards (such as the ‘Singing In’ page and system views) cannot be shown in full. This case study focuses on the public landing experience and the core design foundations used across the product.
